Crash in Kosciusko leaves one man dead Friday morning

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Deputies say one man is dead after another driver failed to yield the right of way causing a collision at the intersection of County Road 200 S and County Road 550 W in Kosciusko County this morning.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office says at around 9:30 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection in reference to a personal injury crash between a Hummer H2 and a Toyota Tacoma pickup.

"When Deputies arrived, it was determined that a 2006 Hummer H2 was north bound on CR 550 W and collided in the intersection with 2010 Toyota Tacoma traveling west bound on CR 200 S," said KCSO Public Information Officer Doug Light. "The Hummer was driven by 56-year-old Michael Kolesiak of Akron, Ind. and the Tacoma was driven by 34-year-old Kevin Harris of Warsaw. The 2006 Hummer failed to yield the right of way to the 2010 Tacoma."

Harris, the driver of the Tacoma, was pronounced dead by Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer at the scene. The crash investigation was turned over to the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.
