Crash involving a turkey sent two people to the hospital

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reports that police arrived to the scene of a motorcycle crash at 1:28 p.m. Sunday on CR 22, southwest of CR 127, that put two people in the hospital.

Police say the motorcycle was traveling northeast on CR 22 as a turkey ran in front of them on the roadway.

The motorist crashed into the turkey and slid a few more feet before coming to a stop on the south side of CR 22, police say.

Police say both the motorist and passenger were transported to Goshen General Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
