Create Bar and Grill in Niles targets November opening date

NILES, Mich.—A new restaurant in Niles aims to showcase the talents of local artists.

Create Bar and Gill will be located at 1245 S. 11th Street and is targeting a late November opening date, according to General Manager Nate Barnett.

The restaurant will be a sit-down, American-style eatery that will promote local creators by immersing guests in an artistic experience while they dine.

Colored pencils and crayons as well as butcher paper will be available at each table for guests to create their own masterpieces.

Live artists, including painters, musicians, dancers, photographers and more, will create as diners choose from a variety of dishes, including gourmet grilled cheeses, burgers, create-your-own mac and cheese bowls and more.

“We hope to offer a space that keeps them engaged. Graffiti art in the shape of chalk board easels and an amazing 16-foot mural will help bring out the creative artist in everyone,” Barnett said.

The restaurant is looking for an artist to display and sell their work by hanging it up inside.

“We believe in helping those that have been limited by our current situation and hope to help give them an outlet to promote themselves and their work,” Barnett said.

The restaurant will also have an eight-foot-tall black fence around the parking lot available for an artist to add some splashes of color to.
