Family escapes early morning house fire in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Crews were called to a house fire in South Bend early Wednesday morning.

Flames broke out at a home in the 600 block of Leland Avenue, just west of downtown, around 2:30 a.m. 

Video sent in by an ABC57 viewer showed flames pouring from the side of the home.

An adult and three children were able to get out of the home before emergency crews arrived.

One of the residents of the home sustained a wrist injury while escaping from the second story of the home.

The fire has since been extinguished.

There are no reports of any other injuries. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
