Crews in South Bend focus on keeping streets clear of snow and ice

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Although driving conditions have improved significantly, crews in South Bend continue to focus on laying down salt on the streets to keep them clear.
ABC 57 spoke with Eric Horvath, the director of Public Works in South Bend, and he said that he wants to make things safe for drivers.
“You still have moisture on the roads,” Horvath said, “and as the sun goes down and as the temperatures drop, that will freeze and so people need to really be careful not just on our roads but on our sidewalks, driveways because there are going to be slick conditions.”
Crews have already been working 12 hour shifts, and they will continue to monitor the roads.
