SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend police say two blocks of Elwood Ave. near Portage Meat & Market are closed as crews work to put out a fire that rekindled Tuesday morning.
The fire is at the old Drewry's plant.
The South Bend Fire Department was originally called to near the 1300 block of Elwood Avenue Monday evening regarding a fire.
According to officials, the vacant building was engulfed in flames when crews arrived on the scene around 6 p.m.
The fire was located on property directly adjacent to the Indiana Michigan Power facility on Elwood Avenue.
I&M said the fire did not affect any of their equipment.
