Fire crews battle structure fire on South Michigan Street for hours
SOUTH BEND, Ind.—A fire was reported on South Michigan Street by a passerby on Friday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Firefighters were sent to the scene of a structure fire in the 900 block of South Michigan Street around 6:45 a.m. on Friday.
Officials closed off a portion of Sample Street near the fire while crews work. Officials said to also avoid Main and Michigan due to traffic delays.
It is unknown if anyone was inside of the structure at the time of the fire.
According to crews on scene, firefighters cannot get into the building so they're working from the exterior.
