Crimestoppers shredding event raises more than $7,000

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Michiana Crimestoppers successfully raised more than $7,000 during an event this weekend.
Crimestoppers said that hundreds of people turned out for its annual shredding event at Heritage Square.
The event was designed to cut down identity theft. People were allowed to shred their personal documents in bulk.
Crimestoppers took donations of $10 at the event.
