Cutting costs during the heat wave

As the temperatures rise in Michiana so might those utility bills.
If you’re going on vacation, the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, or OUCC, recommends using timers for TVs, computers, and other appliances.
Your refrigerator is another appliance you should be aware of.
The OUCC says to clean or vacuum the coils on your fridge.
You should also check you’re a/c’s filter to make sure it’s not dirty.
A dirty filter will force the unit to waste energy by working harder.
And to save more money you can participate in your electric utility’s energy efficiency programs which include home energy assessments.
