Damaging wind threat increases for Michiana this afternoon
ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Tuesday, August 11, 2026
There have already been some loud and strong storms this morning across Michiana, mainly producing large hail and heavy rainfall. More storms are likely today, and we are particularly concerned with a round set for arrival this afternoon. Threat Tracker is at a three out of five for the threat of widespread damaging winds from roughly noon to 5 PM. Torrential rain and flash flooding along with a few tornadoes all could also be in the cards for us today.
Storms might stay stubborn this evening even after the main line is through. However, an overnight round of storms is not expected into Wednesday. A few more storms (some strong) could find their way back to Michiana on Wednesday AND Thursday before a very short break from the storms arrives on Friday. The weekend could feature (you guessed it) more strong storms.
Today: Strong storms in the morning, then severe weather likely this afternoon. High 78.
Tonight: Storms wrap up in the evening, then foggy overnight. Low 66.
Tomorrow: Afternoon storms possible. High 82.
Thursday: More storms possible, some could be strong. High 80.
