Dancer arrested, business cited in Gary after Excise bust

GARY, Ind. – CT’s Adult Book Store was cited for prostitution and drugs Saturday night following a bust by Indiana State Excise Police.

ISEP say officers executed a search warrant at the business on Industrial Highway around 11:15 p.m.

Prior to serving the warrant, a female dancer who works there reportedly offered sexual acts to an undercover officer in exchange for money on more than one occasion.

According to police, a search of the establishment uncovered Viagra, Oxycodone, and marijuana, thought to have belonged to the dancer, a 27-year-old of Schererville. She was arrested on and booked in the Lake County Jail on charges of prostitution and possession of marijuana.

Officers issued a citation to the business for public nuisance, public nudity, promoting prostitution, possession of narcotics, failure to provide minimum food service, service of set-ups, and retail to retail.

Criminal charges of maintaining a common nuisance and promoting prostitution will be forwarded to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office.

This investigation is still ongoing.
