SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Darden Elementary School got help from a former Notre Dame leprechaun to get students excited about reading.
On Tuesday, author and former Notre Dame leprechaun Mike Brown joined students and teachers at a special assembly promoting literacy.
A current Notre Dame leprechaun was also in attendance, pumping up the crowd with the iconic Irish jig.
During the assembly, Brown talked to students about writing their own stories.
Brown is the author of two books, Leprechaun's Game Day and Little Netta's Gift.
