LA PORTE COUTNY, Ind. -- On Friday, November 21, at approximately 9:09 P.M. the La Porte County deputies responded to S.R 2 and C.R 500 East to a crash involving two motor vehicles. 

A vehicle being operated by 43-year-old Michael S. Munroe of Lansing, Illinois, was traveling west on S.R 2. As the vehicle passed C.R 500 East, the vehicle was struck by a pickup truck operated by 42-year-old Matthew J. Turner of Crawfordville, Florida. 

The truck operated by Turner was traveling east on S.R 2 in the west bound lane of travel which resulted in the vehicles colliding. 

Both Munroe and Turner were pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team and Criminal Investigation Division responded at the scene. 

Toxicology test results are pending, and no further information is available for release.
