Deputies asking for help identifying armed robbery suspects

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance photos of one of the suspects in an armed robbery at a convenience store on US 20.

Just before midnight Saturday, deputies were called to the Family Express at 7687 W. US 20 for reports of an armed robbery.

Two people entered the business armed with guns and ordered the employee to the ground.

After the employee complied, the suspects took him to the register.

One of the suspects removed cash from the register as well as personal property belonging to the employee.

The suspects left the business in a car and headed southbound on Johnson Road.

One suspect is a black male, approximately 6-feet tall, has a heavy build and was wearing a sweatshirt, dark jeans, a blue medical mask and blue or purple Air Jordan shoes.

The other suspect is a black male, approximately 5-feet tall, and was wearing a sweatshirt, dark jeans with rips, a mask and white Air Force One shoes.

The vehicle they left in was a newer red Chevrolet sedan without a license plate.
