Deputies locate vehicle involved in fatal hit and run

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- A deputy located a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit and run that killed a pedestrian on February 27, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 61000 block of CR 378.

On March 1, a deputy patrolling in Bangor located a 2011 Dodge Journey around 10 p.m. and conducted a traffic stop on it.

The 21-year-old driver allegedly admitted to driving the night of the hit and run as well.

The vehicle was impounded and is being processed for evidence.

Deputies said the man who was struck by the vehicle was identified as 55-year-old Brian Keith Perry.

Once the investigation is complete it will be sent to the prosecutor's office for possible charges.
