SOUTH BEND, Ind.- Women remain a minority in Congress and elected office nationwide.
ABC57 spoke with women in Michiana to get their take on how significant this issue is to them.
Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, a professor of political science at IUSB, said there is a much larger barrier, including recruitment of strong female candidates, and the power of incumbency.
