DNR encouraging people to #OptOutside for Black Friday

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is giving people a different place to celebrate Black Friday; the great outdoors. And to sweeten the deal, DNR is waiving admission fees and offering prize drawings.

In a new campaign called #OptOutside, the DNR is giving free admission at any DNR property that charges a gate fee on Black Friday.

While this is a great way to socially distance and avoid crowds, there will also be several drawings for DNR-related merch such as annual passes, lake permits, gifts cards and more.

Additionally, anyone that participates will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a gift pack from REI, an outdoor gear retailer.

There will be three main ways to participate in the drawings.

The first way is to share photos taken on DNR properties on Black Friday and sharing them to social media with the appropriate hashtags.

The second way is to stay overnight and share a social media post about it, again with specific hashtags.

The third way is to complete the scavenger hunt on Black Friday.
