Doctor being monitored for Ebola inside the U.S.

An American doctor is being monitored for Ebola. Dr. John Fankhauser returned from Liberia and is being monitored for Ebola in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The California doctor and missionary is at “some risk” for the virus.

Dr. Fankhauser is said to be cooperating to keep the public safe.

“John is a very careful and meticulous kind of guy, and you'd have to ask him how it changed him internally. But I'm sure it was major. It impacts you like nothing else would,” says SIM Missionary Medical Director Dr. Paul Hudson.

Since arriving to Charlotte over the weekend, he has showed no signs or symptoms for Ebola.

Dr. Fankhauser will be closely monitored for the next 21 days
