Dowagiac man killed in Benton Harbor shooting

Police say this man came from a flanking position and opened fire with a rifle toward the group of fleeing bystanders.

Police say this man was seen walking with the two men in the video. 

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A Dowagiac man is confirmed dead after a shooting in Benton Harbor on Saturday. The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to a call of shots fired in the 900 block of Buss Avenue at 3:20 a.m.

When officers got to the scene they found a 41-year-old Dowagiac man dead.

Images captured by an apartment complex's video system showed two men dressed in dark clothing watching a group at the complex.

BHDPS says one of these men approached the group and shot the victim. Officials say a second male came from a flanking position and shot at the bystanders with a rifle.

There was a third person seen walking with the two men in the footage who officers are also trying to locate. 

All three men left the area after the shooting.
