CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to single-vehicle crash with a cow in the 70400 block of Calvin Center Road in Mason Township around 3:31 a.m., Friday.

Investigators determined 67-year-old Dale Killarney, of Dowagiac, was traveling south on Calvin Center Road when he struck a cow in the roadway.

Killarney was unable to exit his vehicle on his own and was assisted out by responding deputies.

Killarney was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
