Downtown South Bend gearing up for holiday celebrations

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The holiday season is officially making its way into South Bend.
ABC 57 found the city Christmas tree up at the College Football Hall of Fame for Friday’s lighting ceremony, and of course Santa Claus will be stopping by turn on the lights and open Santa’s house and workshop.
The tree lighting ceremony is part of ‘First Fridays Downtown.” The whole family is invited to check out the holiday open houses. Enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies, and of course meet Santa himself.
Everything kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday. The tree lighting is at 5:30 p.m. at the College Football Hall of Fame.
