Downtown South Bend Summer Fitness Series starts Saturday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Downtown South Bend, Inc. announced the Summer Fitness Series will return to the Gridiron downtown on Saturday at 8 a.m.

DTSB has partnered with local fitness organizations and instructors to provide this free series every Saturday through Aug. 30.

There will be yoga at 8 a.m., Zumba at 9 a.m., and other fitness opportunities at 10 a.m., including Boot Camp, HIIT, Pilates, Barre and more.

Organizers say the Summer Fitness Series Food and Personal Item drive for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana is also back.

Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods, non-perishables, or personal items.

The series is open to everyone of all ages and skill levels, and no advance registration is required.

Participants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring adequate fluids, and will be required to sign a waiver for the season.

Bottled water and hand sanitizer will be available for participants, but mat rentals will not. Sunscreen will also be provided.

In case of inclement weather, classes will be canceled. Classes will continue as scheduled in light rain.

Free parking is available on the street and in the Leighton Parking Garage.
