Driver arrested on drug and weapons charges

THREE RIVERS, Mich. – A driver was arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop Saturday evening, according to Three Rivers Police.

Saturday evening, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of W. Michigan.

The officer became suspicious of the driver’s behavior and answers to questions, so a K9 conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle.

K9 Django alerted on the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded pistol and a significant amount of methamphetamine, police said.

The driver, a 38-year-old man from Three Rivers, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and firearms violations.
