Driver arrested on drug charges following traffic stop

CASS COUNTY, Ind. -- A woman was arrested on drug charges after deputies conducted a traffic stop on the van she was driving, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.

On Monday, detectives from the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team assisted deputies with a suspicious situation in the 66000 block of Kessingston Street.

Detectives made contact with a 41-year-old woman who was driving a van in the area of the suspicious situation.

The woman was in the area to pick up another person, according to deputies.

Deputies said they found meth and needles in the van.

The woman was taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving without a license.

The suspect's name was not released.
