Driver cited in Elkhart County crash that leaves one injured

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver was cited following a crash that left another driver injured in Elkhart County.

The crash occurred Thursday, September 19 at 8:17 a.m. on County Road 18, west of the intersection of County Road 13.

The driver of 2007 Toyota Avalon was turning left onto County Road 18 from County Road 13 when the driver of a 2007 GMC Yukon traveling east failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the rear side of the Toyota.

The Toyota sustained heavy damage to the rear driver's side and the GMC sustained moderate damage to the front end of the driver's side.

The driver of the Toyota, a 56-year-old woman from Elkhart, was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for complaints of back pain.

The driver of the GMC, a 36-year-old man from South Bend, was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
