Driver facing charges after fatal crash on I-94 involving motorcyclist

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on I-94 early Sunday morning, according to Michigan State Police.

The investigation revealed a 26-year-old man from Covert was traveling westbound on I-94 at mile marker 19 when his car rear ended a motorcycle driven by a 33-year-old man from Chicago.

The motorcyclist died as a result of the crash.

The car's driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released at the hospital.

Troopers say the driver of the car was taken into custody and charged with operating while intoxicated causing death.

His name is being withheld pending arraignment.
