Driver in hospital, passenger dead after ejected from motorcycle

Police said the passenger on a motorcycle is dead after the driver crashed on Elm Rd., in St. Joseph County Saturday, just before 6 p.m.
Officers said both people were ejected.
The passenger landed in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver landed in a nearby bean field and was taken to the hospital for serious injuries.
Officers said alcohol and speed are believed to be factors, but they are still investigating.
