Driver killed in LaGrange County crash

SHIPSHEWANA, Ind.—A 53-year-old Howe man died following a crash in LaGrange County on Monday night, according to Indiana State Police. 

On Monday, around 6:50 p.m., Indiana State Police were sent to a crash in the 4000 block of W. State Road 120 in LaGrange County. 

At the scene, troopers found a single vehicle rolled over onto its passenger side with the driver, who was the only occupant in the car, entrapped and unresponsive. 

The driver, later identified as Trent T. McDowell, 53, of Howe, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigation results show that McDowell’s car left the road for an unknown reason and hit a tree before rolling over and coming to a stop, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
