Driver left with missing memory after crash in Elkhart County Thursday
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash involving three vehicles on Thursday morning where one driver was cited, and one was sent to a local hospital.
Authorities say the crash happened around 9:15 a.m. and initial investigation shows a 2000 Ford F150 being driven by 58-year-old James Wroblewki, of Hicksville, Ohio, rearended two vehicles near the intersection of U.S. 20 and C.R. 35.
Wroblewki told authorities he was heading west on U.S. 20 nearing C.R. 35 when he saw brake lights in front of him but was unable to stop. His truck collided with another vehicle, but Wroblewki said he did not know which one.
A 37-year-old driver of a 2012 Ford Edge that was hit told authorities they don’t remember what happened in the crash.
A third driver, a 55-year-old in a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, said they was stopped at the light of U.S. 20 and C.R. 35 facing west when they and the Edge were rearended by Wroblewki.
The driver of the Edge complained of head pain and their passenger had a laceration to their eye lid. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Jetta was uninjured.
Wroblewki was uninjured and cited for disregarding a traffic control device-resulting in bodily injury.
