Driver in Cass County transported to hospital after crashing into field

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports that a motorist drove through an embankment near the intersection of Marcellus Highway and Flanders Street and crashed into a field Wednesday.

63-year-old Dennis Bacon of Dowagiac has been identified as the driver.

A private vehicle transported Bacon to the Ascension Borgess-Lee Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies say that Bacon had his seat-belt on at the time of the crash.

It does not appear that alcohol or drugs are a factor in the crash.

This case remains under investigation.
