Drivers asked to take alternate routes to Elkhart fair

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Getting to and from the Elkhart County 4-H Fair can take a long time, especially when there is a big concert. Fair officials encourage drivers to take alternate routes.

Monday night, guests spent an hour or more just trying to get into and out of the fairgrounds for the Florida Georgia Line concert.

With Vince Gill taking the stage Tuesday night, attendance is once again expected to be in the thousands.

Fair officials are encouraging fairgoers to take alternate routes into the fair.

"It's well marked. Once you get in to Goshen or close to Goshen in the county, there are signs everywhere for the express routes and so if you follow them with the signage you should be able to come in the back way. It is much faster that way,” said Monica Gould, Elkhart County 4-H Fair.

Fair officials recommend entering the fairgrounds from the east using-- either County Road 31 or County Road 29.
