Driving Tips for Dense Fog

SOUTH BEND, Ind -- Thick fog covered Michiana during the early morning hours on Tuesday.

 As the morning progressed, so did the fog, making it difficult for drivers to see the roadway and traffic signs.

Here are some tips to follow when dense fog hits our area: Use your low beam lights Don't stop in the middle of a roadway.

Pull over to the side if you are having troubles with your car.

Listen for traffic that you can't see.

Open your windows a little so you can hear what is around you.

Use the right edge of the roadway as a navigation tool.
