Drugs, firearms confiscated during crystal methamphetamine distribution investigation

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – One man was arrested and a number of firearms and drugs were found as part of a monthslong illegal drug investigation, the Southwest Enforcement Team West reported.

On Thursday, detectives with SWET West performed search warrants in Berrien and Van Buren counties.

While performing a search warrant in Van Buren County, detectives found methamphetamine and other evidence, according to reports.

A 35-year-old Benton Township male was arrested and taken to the Van Buren County Jail on a number of drug and firearms charges.

During a search warrant in Berrien County, detectives found nearly a half pound of crystal methamphetamine, an unregistered pistol, ammunition, drug distribution paraphernalia, and other evidence, according to reports.

Warrants are being sought against additional suspects related to this investigation.

The search warrants culminated a six-month investigation into a crystal methamphetamine distribution network, reports said.
