Dry hydrants hamper firefight

LITTLE YORK, Texas — How to do you fight a fire without any water? One Texas fire department struggled with that problem when they responded to fire near Houston.

Firefighters from Little York, Texas responded to a two alarm fire only to find the fire hydrants dry.

Crews eventually had to run hoses across the road just to get water to the scene, costing the crews valuable time. And those living nearby are worried.

The Harris County fire marshal is now investigating. But the fire marshal says its up to the apartment complex to make sure those hydrants are working.
