Early morning crash leaves residents without power

St. Joseph County, IN - No overnight storms but some residents in St. Joseph County are without power.  St. Joseph County Police say a man drove off Grant Road, hit a power pole, and then slammed into a tree.  That left people living on that block without power.  It all happened just after 1:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Indiana Michigan Power didn't know how many customers were without power.  On their website it showed that 431 customers were without power.  A customer representative didn't know how many out of that group were associated with the Grant Road collision.

Police say the man is expected to be okay.  He did receive an injury to his eye.  They will also be looking to see if the man was drinking and driving.  Stay with ABC57 News for the latest updates.
