East Coast still picking up wreckage by Irene

U.S. -While the Gulf Coast is dealing with Lee's wrath, the East coast is still picking up after Hurricane Irene swept the coastline last weekend.

President Obama toured some of the hardest hit areas in New York and New Jersey over the weekend where he promised to provide federal assistance for the states hit hard by the storm.

Over the weekend, President Obama also declared a state of emergency in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia freeing up federal resources for recovery, and now all eyes are on Hurricane Katia in the Atlantic which is gaining strength as a category two storm.

Right now all projections have the hurricane kept off to sea with little effect on the U.S.
