Edwardsburg Public schools offer resources for students, staff following passing of student

ABC 57

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- In a message to staff and families, the Edwardsburg Public Schools superintendent shared that a 6th grade student tragically passed away.

Superintendent Dr. Courtney Szucs said their thoughts and deepest condolences are with the student's family, friends and classmates.

"He was a bright and meaningful part of our Eddie community, and we know his loss is deeply felt by many. There are truly no words that can fully express the sadness and loss our Eddie family is experiencing," said Szucs.

In the days ahead, Szucs says the district will focus on supporting students, staff, and families to process the loss. Starting on Monday, March 9, crisis team members from Edwardsburg Public Schools and the ISD will be available for student and staff support in all buildings.

These resources will be available as long as they are needed, according to the district.
