Edwardsburg Public Schools to have early dismissal Wednesday
ABC 57 EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- Edwardsburg Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Courtney Szucs announced Tuesday morning that all Edwardsburg Public Schools buildings will be dismissed an hour early on Wednesday.
Szucs states this is to ensure those who wish to attend the funeral of 12-year-old Silas Anderson can do so.
Szucs sent out the following to Edwardsburg Public Schools families:
"Dear Eddie Families,
As our school community continues to navigate this incredibly difficult time, we want to ensure that those who wish to attend tomorrow’s funeral services have the opportunity to do so.
To support our staff and families who would like to attend, ALL Edwardsburg Public Schools buildings will be released one hour early tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Buses will run one hour earlier than their normal schedule.
During times of loss, maintaining routine and providing stability can be especially important for students. Our goal is to keep our school district running as normally as possible so that students have the support, structure, and care they need while our community grieves.
We are deeply grateful for the compassion, flexibility, and understanding our families continue to show as we support one another.
Thank you for your understanding."
