Week wraps up mostly dry, but rainy Easter weekend in store
ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Community Schools’ two-day job fair kicked off Monday afternoon in an effort to fill open positions for teaching and non-teaching jobs throughout the district.
Due to the pandemic and low unemployment rates, some educators are re-evaluating their career paths, making it difficult for companies to hire qualified employees.
“We are very similar to many local businesses in the sense that we are all struggling to fill vacancies, and it can be especially hard to staff our schools when there’s a shortage of workers throughout the community,” said Maggie Lozano, Director of Human Resources at Elkhart Community Schools.
The job fair is open again from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Engineering Technology and Innovation Building, 2510 California Road.
