Elkhart community to voice concerns over dangerous intersection

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart community will get a chance to voice their concerns over what appears to be a very dangerous stretch of road!

More than 100 accidents have happened on State Road 19, near Simonton Lake since 2004. Over the last year and a half, three people have died here!

Businesses along that stretch of road say that speed is the biggest problem.

"I was going 40 and a semi passed me through the curves, coming from the north passed me and I thought he was going to tip over,” said Tavern Manager Merle Anderson.

On Thursday, State Representative Tim Neese will hold a town hall meeting to talk about the safety of the road. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Simonton Lake Sportsmen's Club.
