Elkhart County fire and police co-investigating Middlebury arsons

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. -- The State Fire Marshal has stepped in to help catch a suspected arsonist in Middlebury.

Early on Sunday, firefighters hustled to put out a car fire at Hilltop Dr.

While investigating that fire, deputies said another one broke out just down the street at a home.

Deputies and detectives are now working with the Middlebury Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office, trying to figure out who is behind two weekend fires and a rash of other suspicious fires in the area over the past several months.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department sent a press release to ABC 57 News on Monday morning, regarding the investigation. To read the full document, click here.
