ELKHART COUNTY, Ind --Michiana hospitals are continuing to see a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
During the month of December in 2021 Elkhart General Hospital had more than 300 patients.
Goshen Hospital is also overwhelmed.
There are concerns for the community as well.
The Elkhart County Health Department released a PSA to businesses in the county, suggesting they allow their employees to go back to work after 5 days according to the new CDC guidelines and to stop asking employees get a negative rapid test before coming back.
This comes after the recent supply shortage in rapid tests and Elkhart County being a part of the nationwide impact.
