Suspect in SWAT incident in critical condition from police gunfire
GOSHEN, In. - The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in Goshen, according to the Goshen Police Department.
Police were dispatched to the 600 block of S. 9th Street, between Reynolds and Purl, for the sound of gunshots around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night.
An anonymous caller told police they saw someone carried by several other people to a truck that was seen leaving on Reynolds Street.
Officers at the scene were unable to locate any people or a vehicle.
A few minutes later, police were sent to the emergency room of Goshen General Hospital for a man with gunshot wounds.
The man, later identified as 26-year-old Jordan L. Garcia of Goshen, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
