Elkhart County Parks to host a tour of the historic Gene Stratton Porter Home

Join an Elkhart County Parks Naturalist as we for a catered brunch and guided wildflower walk at the Gene Stratton Porter property on beautiful Sylvan Lake in Rome City, Indiana on Saturday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. After the brunch and wildflower walk participants will tour the historic home of Gene Stratton Porter, the famous Indiana author and naturalist. This will be a wonderful time to tour the grounds which abound with beautiful native wildflowers.

Space is limited so sign up early. Transportation is provided. Please meet at Elkhart County Historical Museum by 8:30 a.m. The fee of $35.00 per person includes transportation, the catered brunch, guided wildflower walk and home tour. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Preregistration and payment is required by Friday, April 19 before 4 p.m. to register please contact the Elkhart County Parks Administration office located at 211 West Lincoln Avenue, Goshen, Indiana or by phone at 574-535-6458.
