Elkhart County Triad hosts bi-annual drug drop-off day

ELKHART, Ind. -- Out with the old and in with the new!

The Elkhart County Triad and local law enforcement held their bi-annual drug drop-off day.

Folks had a chance to drop off their old and expired medications and needles.

All of the items are then taken to be disposed of safely.

"People may be cleaning up out their houses or going through at this time of year and you know, finding out that things were expired.. so we want to make sure that we get them out of their homes and disposed of properly," said Lt. Laura Koch.

The Police Department plans to offer another drop-off day in the fall.
