Elkhart High School Unified Track Team wins second state title in a row

Elkhart High School

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart High School announced the Lions Unified Track Team placed first for the second year in a row in state competition.

School officials say the team, which allows students with and without disabilities to collectively compete, beat the Penn High School Kingsmen by four points with a score of 123.

“What an outstanding achievement for our Unified Track athletes,” said Elkhart Athletics director Brian Buckley. “We had several students who were on both championship teams, which is very exciting. This season’s new athletes raised the bar of excellence for the team, and we couldn’t be more proud."

This is the third time Elkhart Community Schools have won state in Unified Track, which includes the team from the former Elkhart Memorial High School who won in 2018.

The EHS program is one of just three Unified Track teams state-wide to have won multiple state titles.
