Elkhart holds annual holiday food drive

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart's Mayor Dick Moore has wrapped up his annual Holiday Food Drive.

The food drive and reception was held in the council chambers.

Everybody who attended was asked to bring non-perishable foods that will be given to local food pantries that get depleted over the holidays.

"We will see lots of Elkhart people who will open up their hearts and opened up their wallets and will help us provide more for those who don’t have as much as the rest of us do," said Mayor Moore.

The mayor went on to say that he loves seeing people open their hearts and donate this time of year.
