Elkhart man cited for multiple offenses after evening crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Two people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Thursday evening when one driver failed to yield the right of way ad caused a head-on collision.
Authorities say around 5:43 p.m. on Thursday, 50-year-old Wayne Mason was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado west on Lakewood Drive, near the intersection of S.R. 19, while a 2017 Jeep Renegade was being driven by a 26-year-old Elkhart man was traveling north on S.R. 19, near the intersection of Lakewood Drive.
"[Mason] failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of S.R. 19 and Lakewood Drive, causing a head-on collision with [the Jeep].
The driver of the Jeep and an adult passenger were transported by ambulance to the Elkhart General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Mason was cited for Driving While Suspended Prior, Driving While Suspended Operation of Vehicle results in Bodily Injury, Bodily Injury Failure to Yield Right of Way at Intersection, and Operating Motor Vehicle without Financial Responsibility Prior.
