Groundbreaking for phase two of ’The Cascade’
Slower speeds make for a safe drive home when we’re talking about downed trees and flooding across some Elkhart neighborhoods.
Just feet away from Simonton Lake and near hundreds of trees, neighbors felt the impact of Wednesday night’s storm.
According to our ABC 57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather team, wind gusts reached around 70 miles an hour there.
Neighbors tell ABC 57 news they had to find alternative routes when heading home Thursday because both North Shore Drive and County Road 11 were blocked off at the intersection after trees fell on both roads.
Luckily most people were inside when the storm came and say it was waking up to what was in their front yard that was the hard part and it’s the cleaning that may take a few more days.
Power was knocked out for most of the area Wednesday night but has since been restored.
