Elkhart offering Christmas tree disposal

ELKHART, Ind. – The City of Elkhart is offering the disposal of Christmas trees for free.
The city has announced drop-off centers at these four locations:
- Westside Middle School at 101 S. Nappanee St.
- North Side Middle School at 300 Lawrence St.
- Riverview Park Softball Complex at 340 Riverview Ave.
- Pierre Moran Pool at 200 W. Lusher Ave.
On January 2nd, trees can be picked up with regular trash service.
The city says all ornaments, stands, lights, wrappings and other objects need to be removed from the trees prior to disposal.
The services will be available through January 19th.
